Vinyl Laundry
Beatles before and after cleaning

How It Works

Vinyl records can provide high-fidelity sound for a lifetime, but in that lifetime they tend to collect all manner of dust, debris, fingerprints, smoke, mold, and weird smudges. Cleaning these foreign materials out of the grooves and off the surface of a record improves sound quality, and increases the longevity of the record. It also helps your turntable’s needle to last longer.

When you bring your records to Vinyl Laundry, we handle them with care and treat them like the cherished objects we know they are. Each record is given a visual inspection, then cleaned in a 2-step ultrasonic bath. This dual-frequency ultrasonic cleaning creates microscopic bubbles which form then burst against the surface of the record. This action, called cavitation, works to break up debris and draw it out from the grooves of the record. After cleaning, the records are dried, and given a fresh inner sleeve. This is the same process I use on my own collection.
